DRYER LINT SCREEN CLEANING TO MAINTAIN PROPER AIR FLOW

Making sure that your dryer’s lint screen and lint screen filter assembly is clean after every load is one of the easiest ways to make sure your dryer runs efficiency. This is especially true for dryers designed with the lint screen on the front panel as shown in the picture above. A dryer lint brush is a very useful tool to own and when used regularly, it will help prevent problems by eliminating lint that accumulates in the lint screen assembly. All appliance part stores carry this brush as well as many local hardware stores.
Using the dryer lint brush, gently scoop the lint in an upward motion to remove as much possible. It may be helpful to use a flash light so that you are able to see where the lint may be lurking. If you are not able to pull all of the lint out, don't worry, what is brushed free will blow out through the venting while the dryer is operating.
If fabric softener sheets are used to freshen up your clothing, it is important to make sure that the filter screen is cleaned on a regular basis with hot soapy water. A few times a year will be enough to remove the chemical residue that builds-up from these sheets.
Maintaining a lint free dryer not only saves energy by avoiding extra dry time to complete a load of laundry but it's also a safety precaution. Dryer fires are usually the result of years worth of lint building up inside the dryer and all it takes is a spark to cause major damage to your home.
